When did you first realize you wanted to be an author?
As a child into teenage years. Then the dream came back about 7 years ago.
How long did it take you to write your book(s)?
It takes approximately s a year to write one book
What is your work schedule like when you're writing?
Start in the morning after school drop off duties then sign off close to school pick ups
What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
I don’t really have one
Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?
My own experiences and what I feel is lacking in our Muslim community
What do you like to do when you're not writing?
I like to read Islamic nonfiction books and watch movies
What does your family think of your writing?
They are very supportive alhamdulillah
What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?
That everyone needs to hire a professional editor. And that writing a children’s book is NOT easy.
Do you have any suggestions to help people become a better writer? If so, what are they?
Keep taking classes to improve your writing. Always write. Don’t ever think you’re too good to stop making progress. And hire a professional editor!!!!
What do you think makes a good story?
I think the best stories are the ones written through experience. “Write what you know.”
As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?
I wanted to be a drummer or a pianist😬
What is your favorite book?
Besides the Quran, too many to count. Probably an Islamic nonfiction,
